I Need A Break

It was almost noon and I couldn't stay still. Sean's bloody face was glued to my head and all I could think of was how to save him. I paced my room in trepidation, forgetting to change my blood-stained dress.

At intervals, I knocked on the door and called on Darko. I needed to know if he had returned, but each time I called, there was no response.

I banged the door severally, but all I got was silence.

What the heck did Sean do wrong? He was just… showing gratitude. What the heck are they doing to him? Will he be killed? I ran my hands repeatedly through my hair, nervously ruffling it up.

All I could do was hope that my silent plea got Darko and he did something to help Sean. But I doubted it, wasn't he the one who started this at first?

Soon I heard footsteps, they sounded far away along the hallway. Quickly, I placed my head against the door, listening to the approaching sound in my mind.

The footsteps stopped right in front of my door. It was followed by heavy breathing.
