The urgency and the carefulness with which Santiago picked me up snapped a chord in me. He was so tender and it felt like I was in heaven. As his face hoisted closer, the warm bluish tint in his eyes pierced into mine. They were like the sight of two beautiful sapphires.

I couldn't help it. My body tingled with withering sensations and I shuddered under the blast of heat from his nostrils.

What is wrong with me? I shut my eyes, trying to gain control, but I wasn't winning. My heart was thumping fast and I could feel it. What is this? Vulnerability? Not really, I was already vulnerable from the beginning… Our fated meeting left me with no choice.

Groaning at my failure, I opened my eyes with uncertainty. The warmth in his eyes had vanished. It was replaced by a cold and dark look, one that bespoke power and dominance. I wasn't able to look at him anymore. Quickly, I shifted my gaze.

Like the crazy, cold jerk that he was, he dropped me on the floor and walked away.
