There was a moment of awkward silence and peace in the car where no one said anything. While they laid there simply catching their breaths and taking in the fresh breezy air from the window that was open just a little bit.
“You let your car get messy huh”? Chance chuckled as he laid on his back as Dr. Tyson laid above him due to lack of space.
“Shut up.” Dr. Tyson snickered. After a moment of silence he mumbled, "Sorry I tore your... costume." He mumbled. "You might not get your refund."
"I was never gonna get a refund in the first place." Chance scoffed at Dr. Tyson.
"Why"? Dr. Tyson frowned.
"Because, I didn't rent it" Chance shrugged.
Any guesses... what might happen next?
"Chance? What are you doing here? I thought you had the day off". As soon as Dr. Tyson noticed him, he uttered. "I forgot my phone" Chance shrugged simply, as he put his phone inside his pocket. "How did you know he had his day off"? Dr. McGrath asked. Chance’s eyes widened while Dr. Tyson retained his calm. "He mentioned yesterday." He shrugged simply. "Oh." Dr. McGrath nodded, without putting much thought into it. "Anyways, have a great trip" Dr. McGrath wished Chance before Chance nodded and exited the scene. "Trip"? As soon as Chance was out of the door, Dr. Tyson couldn't help himself but ask. "Yeah, I think he is going back to his hometown for a coupl
It was around eight when the duo finally reached their destination. On the way, Chance offered to switch with Dr. Tyson to which Dr. Tyson reluctantly agreed to. After a certain amount of time not driving, Dr. Tyson was the one who fell asleep. Moreover, he even started to snore, indicating how tired Dr Tyson must have been to sleep thus peacefully in the car.Suddenly, Chance found the gesture by the doctor even more endearing. What he couldn't stop wondering was why Dr Tyson was going at such lengths? Sure, he had received Dr. Tyson’s explanation, but Chance couldn't help but feel like this wasn't enough. Moreover, his repeated act of kindness was followed by distancing from the former, so Chance was almost certain that Dr Tyson would try to push him away once more.Chance shook Dr Tyson gently as they wer
Eventually the duo did move to the bed and remained there for quite a while, naked and awake after the session they just had. Staring at the ceiling, questioning almost everything at the moment. “You are gonna ignore me again?” Chane couldn’t help but ask. Dr Tyson was quiet for a moment, before he whispered, “Again”? “Everytime, you do something remotely nice for me… you avoid me. As if you are trying to balance your behavior.” “Nice”? “You brought me here.” Chance clarified. “I didn’t mean to ignore you.” Dr Tyson mumbled, “It’s just… you can be a lot sometimes.” “Says the one who constantly berated me when I was working with him.” Chance scowled.
“Okay, remember, do not forget to have at least two major meals daily! You keep getting thinner.” Mrs Lopez scolded her son coupled with a slap on his arm as she bid her son farewell.“Ouch, mom.” Chance rubbed his arm where the hit landed. “Trust, I make sure I eat whenever I get time.”“Clearly you are not eating healthy!” Mrs Lopez narrowed her eyebrows.“Mom, as a doctor, believe me I am very health conscious.” Chance tried his best to convince his mother.“Like doctors don’t get sick!” Mrs Lopex scoffed. “Listen to me young man, just because you have become a doctor don’t you dare try to act smart with me.” Mrs Lopez continued to scold Chance.
The next morning, after his orientation and an hour of duty, Chance took a break to head off to the orthopedics department. Surprisingly enough, Dr Milo McGrath was on a break, so the senior most resident present there was Dr Terrence Tyson. As for Chance, he could really feel his neck growing stiffer, and unable to bear it for much longer he decided to go get it checked out. He ran into his fellow interns who were quite happy to see him, before he headed to the residents suite. He knocked twice (which was standard for any intern) before he walked in.Dr Tyson who was alone in that room with his glasses on and everything looked up from a report to see Chance. “What are you doing here?” He asked while taking a good look around him.“My neck and shoulders…” Chance mumbled.
Chance woke up in the middle of the night, after having slept for a really long time. He didn’t know exactly when he drifted off, but it was one hell of a sleep. He tried to recollect a few things as it felt important, and thus he tried a bit harder. All he could recall was getting up to open the door to Dr. Tyson. What happened after that is pretty much blurry to him. He does remember getting annoyed, and annoying Dr. Tyson in the process, but he was still vague on the details. Taking out his phone he sent a text to Dr. Tyson. {Were you in my apartment? Did I do anything weird?}He got up and tried very slowly to move his shoulder. The pain had subsided quite a bit, but he still needed to give his right side a rest if he were to recover. He wanted to eat some homemade food, but cooking at this mo
Chance didn’t know how to contact Dr Tyson without setting off another argument on the process, so he simply let it slide while thinking of ways to come up with a good opening line. On the day of the wedding, Chance had a day off so he got an X-Ray done a day earlier after his shift. Naturally he couldn’t tell if his fracture had healed or not, but his shoulders definitely could manage without pain meds.He wanted to visit Dr Tyson with the X-Ray, but he couldn’t find him. Chance even sent a simple text to Dr. Tyson, but he received no reply in return. The next day he was all dressed up for the wedding when the bell rang on his door, he half hoped it would be Dr. Tyson like all those times, but it was Kara instead.“Kara, what are you doing here?” Chance was confused. Apart from her sudden ap
Chance wasn’t sure whether or not Dr Tyson was driving above the speed limit, but he was sure driving fast. Chance wore his seatbelt, but that didn’t stop his heart from racing as Dr. Tyson drove. Honestly, at this point Chance would have offered, but he did drink so he didn’t wanna take much risk. When they hit the signal, Chance asked, “If you are this impatient, why can’t we just do it in the car like last time.”“Because cleaning it afterwards is a freaking burden.” Dr. Tyson snapped. “Not to mention the backseat is freaking uncomfortable. We are big people, we need more space. Like my king sized bed.” Dr. Tyson huffed.“I see.” Chance gulped. “But, can you drive a little slowly? It’s just that…
The next day Chance and Kara both were on time, and yet they were swamped with so much work that they barely got some time to breathe. From running around from here and there, to tending to a lot of patients, which was more than they had seen. It was a bit messy and tiring.“Damn, it’s so exhausting.” in their tiny lunch break, Kara groaned.“Yeah, but it’s also nice.” Chance shrugged.Kara stared at Chance with a deadpan look, as if Chance had gone crazy or something. When Chance didn’t continue, Kara added, “Please tell me you were being sarcastic.”“What?” Chance blinked. “No, I wasn’t. I mean, it was kind of fun.” Chance shrugged. "We got to learn so much".“You have lost your mind. Finally you are facing the repercussions of sleeping with Dr. Tyson.” Kara shook her head.“This has nothing to do with him.” Chance ro
“So, when are you leaving?” Terrence asked.“In a while.” Chance declared. “After this meal probably.”“Do you have any plans?” Terrence asked.“I was gonna go… shop for some stuff. After which I’ll probably head home.” Chance nodded. “Why? You wanna come with me?” he teased.“Can I?” Terrence asked, taking Chance up by surprise.“You… want to?” Chance was surprised. “Don’t you have a shift tomorrow?”“So do you.” Terrence shrugged. “I am not talking about sex. I am talking about shopping. I need to buy some stuff as well. I
Chance had two more days to cover in the peds, one of which was only clinic duty. Meanwhile, after two days Terrence was reinstated as well. Things were starting to fall back in place for both of them, with Chance starting his rotation in general surgery, while Terrence was getting acquainted with his work schedule.“I see you are back.” Dr. McGrath was the first one to greet him. Having had the night shift, he was the only one who was here at this hour. “So, what did you do on your holiday?”“It wasn’t a holiday. It was a suspension.” Terrence scoffed, shaking his head.“You get to take days off, and you get paid.” Dr. McGrath pointed out. “Tell me you at least enjoyed these days.”“I di
Even though the growl of stomach came from Chance, Terrence acknowledged the fact that he was hungry as well. Without further ado, he decided to order some takeout and as a late celebration Terrence dug into the cake. Even though it was a day later, it was still his birthday cake. It had been ages since he got one. He mostly avoided his friends on his birthday and only got texts from his family. As for his last boyfriend, they gave him gifts, but never once did he arrange a cake.Once they were done with lunch and dessert. Terrence decided to check up on some of his patients that he had admitted and whom he left under the supervision of Dr. McGrath. He called and discussed some of the possible modes of treatment in a patient with doubtful prognosis. Terrence was deeply immersed in his conversation with his colleague, that is until he felt something on his waist.
It was early morning when Chance finally had his time off from his shift. He was exhausted from the lack of sleep, possibly delirious, so much so that he was having second thoughts regarding driving. Ultimately he decided to call a cab and went home. Once he reached his apartment, he noticed Terrence was still there passed out in his bed. Of all the things he had expected to walk into when he came in, that was not it.He checked all the other rooms to ensure that Terrence hadn't got drunk and messed around again. Luckily everything seemed in its place which caused a sigh of relief to come out of Chance. He was entertained by the fact that he was worried about making a mess by a literal clean freak. Without pondering much, he laid down next to Terrence on the bed and drifted off to sleep almost immediately. He woke up to the scent of hot milk
For some reason Terrence was not satisfied with one round, and they went around several times causing him to be late at the office. He was literally running in the hallway which could give the false impression that there was an emergency case he needed to attend to and not that he was late. When he reached he received a quick scolding from his seniors before Kara got to him.“What happened to you? Where did you run off last night? No matter what, I couldn't get a hold of you.” She seemed pissed.“Sorry, my phone was out of power.” Chance shrugged.“How? You barely use it here.”“It’s broken. I really got to get a new one.” Chance sighed. “Which reminds me, why did you call?”
Few moments later, Terrence pulled away, and looked at Chance who looked at Terrence with a puzzled expression. “What was that for?” he asked.“Placebo.” Terrence smirked. Chance frowned, until it hit him. They went around a few more times in the ferris wheel before they were done for the ride. For some reason after that sudden kiss, Chance was more composed of himself for the rest of the ride. While Terrence was alright with not riding on the roller coaster, upon isisting by Chance a lot, he agreed. Chance was still terrified of this one, but since he could overcome his fear of the ferris wheel, he actually had a little bit of fun. He wanted to try roller coasters as well.Only he wished he didn’t when they were etting out. He could b
Terrence woke up in his own bed with a terrible hangover looming over his head. “Good morning.” a sweet and painfully loud voice startled him. “Just to make it clear, we did not have sex last night.” Chance declared.“Why are you here?” Terrence asked, in a whisper.“I made you some hangover soup.” Chance smiled. “How much do you remember?”“I remember being suspended, being kicked off the seminar team. I remember going to The Tropical Rise and drinking…a lot.” Terrence nodded. “Oh, and I kissed someone.”“I hope you are talking about me.” Chance declared firmly.
It took the hospital a few more days to go back to its normal routine, where most of the casualties of the disasters were discharged. Only a few who had grave injuries were needed to be kept in the hospital. One of those patients was under Terrence, and thus he made sure he kept a watch on them on a regular basis. After his rounds he came back to the residents suite, where he found Dr. McGrath going over his case files. “Is that of my patient?” he couldn’t help but ask Dr. McGrath.“Yes, he was one of the patients you operated on.” Dr. McGrath nodded. “It says you worked with Dr. Winter on this one?” he asked.“I did?” Terrence was confused and thus checked the file thoroughly, “oh yeah, it’s the one
