Chapter 42

Clara's POV

Before leaving the room, I changed into fresh clothes to rid myself of the dirt and the overpowering smell of medicine.

As I stepped out, everything appeared bright and new to my senses. I could even detect Alastair’s scent - not just his cologne, but also the woodsy and forest-like aroma of his Wolf’s scent. It was intoxicating

We made our way to the parking lot where Alastair’s car was waiting. It must have been brought by one of the pack members. Although Alastair doesn’t require a car to travel, I do.

As we pulled out of the parking lot, Alastair asked, “Where should we search first when we reach there?” I knew that if we wanted to uncover more clues and answers, we needed to visit my old house.

“I think we should start inside the old house,” I said. I wasn’t sure if we would find anything since I and Richa had already searched inside, but hope was all I had and I clung to it.
