Rayner's POV

“What do you want? Mom repeated.

“I miss you, Mom,” I said, my eyes teary.

“I am still here waiting for you to make the right decision,” she said.

“Mom, a lot has happened these few days, and I think I am gradually losing it,” I cried, the tears out of my control.

“Rayner, all these wouldn't have happened if you had a man in your life. You should have been in his arms crying right now while he cuddled you to sleep,” she said.

“Mom!” I exclaimed.

“A lot of these will continue to happen and weigh you down till you get a man for yourself.” She added.

Mom was never aware of Daniel because I didn't want her to pressure him into getting married to me as soon as possible. On second thought, everything went from good to bad at work from the very moment Mom sent me out of her house.

I just had to make peace with her. Maybe everything with Nathaniel Blackwood will end as well. With that in mind, I was determined to make Mom forgive me.
