On Thin Ice: A Forbidden Step Siblings Affair
I barely have time to react when my back collides with the cold wall of my room.
Gray’s hands slams against the wall on either side of my head, caging me in. his chest rises and falls.
“You’re a coward,” he breathes his voice raspy.
I swallow hard. “And you’re an asshole.”
He smirks, but there’s no humor in it. “Maybe, but at least I don’t run from what I want.”
I try to shove him away but with one hand he catches my wrists, pinning against the wall above my head. My breath hitches.
His grip isn't painful, just firm and possessive.
“You keep looking at me like that,” he murmurs as his lips brush against my jaw causing me to tilt my head, “but then you pretend you don’t want this.”
“I don’t,” I whisper and even I don’t believe myself.
Gray’s lips twitch, as if he’s amused. Then before I can stop him, his lips crash against mine.
I gasp and that’s all it takes for him to deepen the kiss, his free hand sliding to my waist, pulling me against him. heat pulls in my stomach and moves between my legs.
I should push him. I should slap him, make him stop…
But I don’t.
Because the moment his tongue brushes against mine, I’m gone.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………
He is my tormentor, my stepbrother, my worst nightmare.
Yet somehow in the dark, when the world isn't watching, he becomes something else, something forbidden.
We're never meant to fall.
Never meant to crave.

Chapter: Promises in ink. (Wedding 2)WARNING: THIS CHAPTER MAY BE SENSITIVE TO SOME READERS, PLEASE PROCEED WITH CARE.Raelynn.Grayson’s watching me.He already saw the crack, now he’s just waiting for the whole damn thing to split open. I can feel it. The pressure behind his stare. The unspoken threat in the way he’s frozen, laser-focused, like a predator circling. But I’m not that stupid.I shove away from him, voice flat. “We’re done, right?”I don’t wait for the photographer’s answer. My legs are already moving, heart pounding in my ears louder than the chatter in the room.“Wait!” the photographer calls. “One with you and Isabella.”I halt, teeth gritted. I taste blood from biting my cheek too hard. My fingers are clenched tight around the note, the edge of the paper slicing into my palm, but I won’t open my fist.I walk back and stand beside Isa, who instantly puts three feet of emotional distance between us like I’m contagious. I don’t care. I don’t even look at her, I’m too busy trying to keep my knees from shak

Chapter: Smile For The Camera (Wedding 1)Grayson.My head is pounding, like someone shoved a door in my skull and now some idiot’s punching it from the inside.I can barely even here what the priest says. I’m pretty sure the sunlight coming through the glass windows has something against me. it’s offensive. Too bright. The last thing I remember from last light is a fist colliding with my face and my head being shoved into a bowl of ice water. Edward’s way of ‘sobering me up.’Now I’m standing here in a damn gold suit like some disco ball version of a dutiful son, part of a fairytale wedding that feels more like a funeral for my sanity. Everyone's smiling, clapping, pretending this isn’t a performance staged by the devil himself.Groomsman duty. What a f*cking joke.Isa’s on the bridesmaid side, in a maroon dress. I can practically feel her glaring at me like her stare alone can knock some sense into me.I glance at her. She mouths. “You’re a f*cking idiot.” I look away when I see the concern in her eyes.I don’t deserve it.

Chapter: Pre-Wedding Tension 2.Raelynn.“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me you’re related to one of the devil twins’ associates.”Yara laughs as she steps out of the car. I follow suit, smoothing my dress.“Brandon and I are barely siblings,” she says, tossing her braids over her shoulder like it’s no big deal.“Half or step?”She chuckles, shaking her head. “Nah, full blood. Same dad, same mum, But unlike the whole ‘touch my sister and I’ll rip you apart’ or ‘touch my brother and I’ll yank your hair out’ thing Isa and Gray have going on, we’re a bit… more distant.”I nod, wondering how she feels since her expression gives up nothing. But I decide not to press on, even though it feels like forever we did just meet a few days ago.Or because you’re scared she’d then want to know more about you.I shake my head pushing the familiar guilty voice away.“How does it feel knowing you’re officially a Blackwell tomorrow?” Yara teases, bumping her shoulder into mine.I groan. “Don’t remind me.”I need to talk Mum into lett

Chapter: Pre-Wedding Tension 1Grayson.“What were you doing with Gray’s baby sister?” Brandon asks Isaac as we drive to the house. I hold back a groan at the term ‘baby sister’. I've let Brandon know a thousand times that brat isn't my anything, but the asshole never listens.Isaac, in the driver’s seat, stays quiet. Typical. Mysterious. Like he doesn’t know how shady that makes him look.I’m riding shotgun, staring out the window like if I focus hard enough, I’ll forget my a**hole of a dad is marrying Sunshine’s Barbie-faced mother tomorrow. And tonight, we’re being dragged to some overpriced, overdecorated pre-wedding circus pretending to be a dinner.Brandon leans in, his face poking between the seats. “Did you ditch school and sleep with her?”Isaac and I groan in perfect sync.At this point, Brandon’s not even curious—he’s just trying to get a rise out of me. Trying to shift my focus off the fact Raelynn slapped me across the face like I deserved it or something.Okay. Maybe I did deserve it. I was being a dc

Chapter: The Person in The Hoodie.Raelynn.I turn swiftly, putting everything I learned from my one-month self-defense camp in Miami to use. I grab the person’s hand, twisting it behind their back… or at least, I try to.Before I can even touch them, they catch my wrist effortlessly, twisting my arm behind my own back instead.“Relax,” a deep, smooth voice murmurs, the kind that wraps around you like a blanket, only this one feels like it might suffocate you. “I’m not going to bite.”It’s a guy.My pulse hammers violently in my chest. “Then let me go, you psycho!”He scoffs, like he’s amused, and releases me.I whip around, glaring. “What the hell is wrong with you?! You scared me!”He doesn’t even flinch. “Didn’t realize you were so easy to scare.”What the hell?My eyes narrow as suspicion settles in my stomach. Who just sneaks up on someone like that? That’s when I actually get a good look at him. He’s tall, probably taller than Grayson, around 6'4, lean but not scrawny. The sides of his hair are buzzed low, and th

Chapter: Day One in Hell...I Mean DetentionRaelynnThis has to be a nightmare or some stupid prank. Or maybe karma is finally catching up with me after all my running.I can feel Grayson’s gaze boring into the side of my head but I refuse to give him the satisfaction of acknowledging him.“Please tell me he’s not the person you’ve assigned as my tutor.” I focus on Mr. noble my voice dangerously close to an embarrassing whine. But it’s either he doesn’t notice or he has zero care in the world because he just ignores me and turns to Grayson.“Grayson, you’ll be tutoring Raelynn here in chemistry from today.” He proceeds to tell the person beside me.I finally glance at Grayson and wish I didn’t. if looks could kill I’d be six feet under. His hands are stuffed in his pockets and there's practically fire blazing from his eyes.“Yeah, no.”I scoff irritated. It’s not like I want this either. “I don’t want him either.”Mr. noble shares a bored glance between us before leaning back in his seat his arms crossed. “It’s been decided. Rae
