My Mafia

My Mafia

Being the daughter of an alcoholic, isn't a great thing. But what is worse is losing my mother at the age of seven. My father, Oliver Kruiz has hated me ever since, thinks I took his wife away from him. When in reality, it was his failure to show up that caused her death. As though hating me wasn't enough to keep me depressed, he tried to get me married to a man twenty years older than I was. I don't think twice before running away, the night before my wedding. I was meant to be careful but got careless, and nearly ended up being molested by thugs. That is before I'm saved by my dark hero: Hayden Wren. Things didn't exactly start smoothly, but that didn't mean they ended well either. I had phobia for thugs because my mother was killed by them; while trying to protect me. Everything suddenly goes south, when I find out the man who had saved me was no different. Which leaves me thinking: is he a friend or foe? --- River Kruiz, the daughter of a drunkard, Oliver Kruiz. She has phobia for thugs, and even eloped the night before her wedding. Nearly for this same reason. But what happens when she finds herself growing attached to a mafia?

Chapter: Chapter 7
By the time Mr Ron returned, I had wiped my tears and was nearly done consuming my breakfast. He frowned at my pace, but placed the white pair of flip flops beside my feet nonetheless. "Here they are." He said, I placed my cutlery on my plate and wiped my mouth with a napkin. I turned to him, the moment I had put the flip flops on."Thank you Mr Ron, but it really wasn't necessary." I say softly, while standing on my feet. A small smile appears on his face, "nonsense." He says waving a hand in dismissal, "Besides, you're like a daughter to me." He adds, walking ahead. But I pause, hesitantly looking at the plate I had eaten from, then finally taking it."No need for that, the maids will have that cleaned." He said, stopping me in my tracks. oh."It really isn't.." I try to protest, but then his eyes stop me. "O... okay." I say gently placing the plate on the table, finally giving in. With a polite smile he leads me next, to the kitchen.****I had soon learned Mr. Hayden had ordered

Chapter: Chapter 6
The pain I felt in my head was agonising.I gasped for breath as soon as I opened my eyes. My body still felt numb and stiff at the moment, so I couldn't move properly for the time being. I blinked the haziness out of my eyes, finding myself staring blankly at a black ceiling.Just then, I realized I was moving. No, that wasn't it. I was being moved, but I couldn't figure out where to. The car, slowly comes to a stop after about twenty minutes had passed by. I couldn't sit upright due to the weakness in my body at the moment. What scared me more was the fact that, my eyes were slowly giving in to darkness.I nearly panicked for a moment, but got distracted by the sound of the car door being pulled open. I failed to see the face of the man who had pulled it open, and find myself squinting my eyes due to the bright light that pour in. My hazy vision wasn't helping, as I felt the stranger's strong arms wrap around my back and legs. Gently, lifting me out of the car."I was afraid somet

Chapter: Chapter 3
I couldn't stop the memories from pouring back, and now all I wanted to do was run away and not turn back. I couldn't, not because I was scared; but because I couldn't run away from my father no matter how much I tried. No, he isn't my father. He's Oliver, an alcoholic. I had gotten used to calling him by his name, it would be difficult if things were to change for the better. "What are you... doing here?" I ask in a hushed voice, confusion swallowing up my sanity whole. He lifts his head to look up at me, and I flinch watching him stagger to his feet. "What do you mean by that? This is my house!" He suddenly yells, swinging the empty bottle of alcohol carelessly in the air causing me to take a cautious step back."Your house?" I quietly ask, anger slowly rising within me like boiling lava ready to erupt. "You're never home!" I finally yell, not holding back anymore. Let him do the worst for all I cared, I wanted to speak my mind and I will. "This very house you call your own, is

Chapter: Chapter 2
Eva is of average height, and had a vicious charismatic spirit. I stared into her emerald green eyes which were clouded with worry and concern. Within a second it disappears, like as though it wasn't there. She whips her golden neatly braided ponytail over her shoulder with a soft smile. She doesn't push it, and I'm grateful for that. "How does girls night sound?" she asks me with a wink. I blink, "what?" I choke out in surprise. "Oh come on, you never have fun, you're always thinking or worrying. At least, just for tonight, please.." she pleads, blinking her cute eyes at me. I turn away with a heavy sigh. "alright." I say in agreement, finally giving in."Really?" she squeals in excitement. I nod, a small smile forming on my lips. She gives me a tight hug nearly squeezing the air out of my lungs, before pulling away. "I'll finish my shift soon, wait for me." she whispered before hurrying back to her post.Eva was the only person I could communicate with, to a certain degree. If I h
