Layla Luther is the only daughter, and last child of the Lutheran family, a highly reputed family in the fictional county of Palmdale and beyond.
Being the only Omega in the Silver Moon pack, she's often overlooked by her parents, and seen as weak, at the same time, constantly bullied and maltreated by her elder brothers.
She soon realizes that her and her supposed mate, Jacob Calvin are not meant to be, since his family pack, known as the Crystal Crescent are actually enemies of the Silver Moon pack, and she is being used as a medium to settle the historical dispute between the two packs.
The Silver Moon pack pushes her to the Crystal Crescent pack by telling her she is meant for Jacob Calvin, therefore she belongs to the Crystal Crescent pack.
She catches Jacob cheating, and without remorse, he opens up about her not being his actual mate, and was just being used by her family to settle an unending rival, since she's considered worthless.
In pain and anger, she leaves Palmdale and heads to Westwoods, where she feels the mate bond, and in no time becomes mated to Alpha Hermes who recently recovered from the grief of loosing his former mate.
With the help of Alpha Hermes, she becomes a thoroughly feared Lunar in the county of Palmdale.
But things are about to change when her rich family, seeks to come back into her life. It get worse when she realizes that the Silver Moon pack are behind Alpha Hermes grief, as they had slaughtered his former mate and the late Lunar of the Desert Wolf pack.
Would she choose the Silver Moon pack over the Desert wolves?

Chapter: Chapter 55 - TragedyHERMESTHE SMILE plastered on my face from watching couples of the pack dance, most especially Hathor and Michael disappeared when I heard Layla's troubled voice. She was struggling to breathe. I stood from the couch and strained to listen but there was nothing. I called using the mind link, still no response."Turn this music down!" I growled, throwing my cup of beer on the floor. It shattered to pieces and garnered everyone's attention along with my growl. The music was turned off and Gregory ran out of the kitchen."Layla is gone," he said."You were with her just now.""Yes. She said she was going to be back but she's not anywhere around.""No, no, no. Who do you think is behind this?" I was evidently worried. If I had danced with her all of these wouldn't be happening."Let's not jump into conclusions. Maybe she went to get something few blocks away and..""I heard her whispering my name through the mind link, Gregory. From her voice I could tell she is in danger.""Oh crap! What

Chapter: Chapter 54 - No Romance LAYLA "WHAT ELSE DO I do?" I asked rhetorically. "I turned on my family, he made me swear by the moon goddess after you left. Then late at night, he became cold. He thinks he can't trust me." "Can he?" Gregory asked with raised eyebrows. "What do you mean can he? Haven't you been listening? I've literally sacrificed every other thing just to be here." Gregory nodded. "I get you. But you need to give him time, he is scared that's just it. He knows your family is out there and it bothers him that you can return to them anytime." "No, I can't. What are you saying Gregory?" "I'm telling you the Alpha's mind. He doesn't trust you anymore." "There's no way I can return to my family. They won't accept me after the stunt I pulled with them. Not like they were genuinely interested in me from the start. If not for what Alpha Hermes and this pack made me become, I wouldn't be revered by them in the first place." "Hmm," Gregory adjusted his position on his seat, leaning forward and placi

Chapter: Chapter 53 - JACOBJACOBWITH EVERYTHING I had done for Layla, I wouldn't allow a local Alpha to brainwash her. She was definitely under a sort of spell. I've known her all my life, shielded her from every threat and stood by her when no one else did. Why would she want to choose someone she met less than a year ago over me? He was below standards, a local Alpha to a true blood. I grabbed a small glass vase placed on the table on my room and sent it crashing to the floor, leaving the flowers with no place of residence. I paced crazily around the room, thinking of what else I could do to win Layla over. There was no way I was letting her go. We were meant to rule the Silver Crescent pack as mates before that stupid Alpha came into the picture. He had to die, he and his whole pack. They all needed to be extinct. The support of the current Alpha was crucial. There was no way they could deny the extinction of the desert wolves wouldn't be the best thing to happen at this point. The chief council of werewolv

Chapter: Chapter 52 - Broken TrustHERMES I DIDN'T KNOW what to think. I least expected Layla to abandon her family for me. It was confusing. What should I have expected if she warned me of her family's plan beforehand? Maybe she was being deceitful, and this was a plot to get vital information from me pertaining to the chief council of wolves. I needed to be careful. It was necessary to admit, I felt relieved seeing her. It did not occur to me that she was in the vehicle taken down by Gregory. If I knew beforehand, I would have told him to use another vehicle for distraction. The way she stood up for my pack in front of her own was commendable, regardless of whatever harm that befell her as a result of our sudden attack. Still, it could be a ploy. My feelings remained for her but not an iota of trust was left. To build a solid relationship, trust is needed. I pulled over at the driveway of the house and heaved a sigh. Today was a huge relief even if I didn't act like it. No member of the pack was lost and Layla is b

Chapter: Chapter 51 - AmbushLAYLAI WAS PACING around my room ruminating on why Alpha Hermes didn't pick up his phone when I called. He refused to respond to any of my text either. Was he that mad at me? Or Hunt had gotten to him. Perhaps, Jacob went to Westwoods secretly with another pack unit to end the Alpha. Several thoughts kept running through my mind. I was trying to stay sane. I should probably return to Westwoods no matter the cost.As the hours passed, my fear and anxiety increased. I couldn't sleep or eat. I was really worried. I felt very foolish for telling my family about the conversation between I and Hermes. Now I was going to send everyone to an early grave including James and the man I loved. I was almost in tears. Night had taken over the day and there was little or nothing I could do to stop the coming massacre.I decided to speak to Jacob and Derek at the same time. I should be able to talk them out of it. I communicated with them using the wolf link and we agreed to meet at the living room.

Chapter: Chapter 50 - Scary TextsHERMES"GIVE ME A goddamn reason to trust you after what you did to me last night, huh?" the sheriff barked."Because we could have taken down your whole team this morning, but we chose not to and decided to come along as your friends. Can't believe you show your hospitality to friends by shooting them and locking them in a cage," I responded in a guttural whisper, leaning towards the prison bars."Alright, let me handle this, Alpha." Gregory stepped forward, pulling me backwards. We had been locked up for two hours while the sheriff was doing his duties. He didn't look a bit comfortable; he was probably finding it hard to comprehend the changes in his system."Listen, Sheriff. You are putting us all at a big risk, including yourself," Gregory stated."How? You bastards are to be blamed for whatever crap I'm feeling now and you expect me to let you get away with it?" The sheriff interrupted harshly."Relax, your voice is a bit loud. I know how you feel, I know everything is loud and i

Chapter: Chapter 40 "AFTER BRINGING THE scrawnies under our control then what next?" Henry asked, intruding his father's privacy even though he had said he wanted to be alone.Virion chuckled as he laid on the bed before speaking."I must say that I am really impressed with you. You've grown to be a very smart, charming young man," he teased."Answer the question," Henry blurted. He was not having it easy with his father. The only reason he had not opposed Virion's plans was because he was his father and furthermore, he wouldn't want to do it in the presence of the rest of his crew. This time around, Virion must let him in and expose all his cards to him if he wanted his support. Henry had his plans also and the only way his father could buy him over is if he let's him know his plans. Why would he decide to hurt thousands of innocent citizens? How was he able to bring Zoe and Evan to the ship with just a spell?!"Then we enter a diplomatic relation with the government. That way, we can—""What's that,"

Chapter: Chapter 39 "ARE YOU SURE you'd make it to work with all of these stuff storming the city," a red haired woman was asking her husband who remained adamant and chose to head to work that morning irrespective of the scrawnies storming the city and it made her worried."Yes daddy, you shouldn't go. They look scary, like monsters," a boy of about ten years old voiced out, suddenly turning from the television he had been watching to chip into the conversation between his dad and mom.Ian adjusted his already knotted tie that seemed to be of discomfort to him at the moment."Come on, it is only happening at one side of the city. I have to get to work," Ian replied both his wife and child before picking up his briefcase. His wife knew there was nothing she could do to change his mind. The only thing she could do was to hope that he came back alive.Ian knew he made the wrong choice by opting to go to work. But, he needed to clear his head and understand somethings. Chapter: Chapter 38 "WHAT! WHAT'S HAPPENING?" Jared said as he jolted awake to his king sized bed in his room. His mother was the first person he beheld as he jumped from his sleep. She was staring in surprise, wondering what kind of dream would have made her son react the way he did from his sleep."What's wrong? Are you okay?" Joanne asked, sitting beside her son on the bed."No, yes..I mean..no," Jared stuttered in confusion trying to understand what happened and how he arrived home."How did I get here?" Jared asked after realizing he had no memory of returning home from the fortress."What do you mean? This is where you have always been, your home," his mother chuckled, hiding her confusion. Deep down inside, she wished she understood what her son was saying."No, no way," Jared said, holding his head with his hands in disappointment. He jumped from his bed to his feet and paced before replying his mother's confused gaze fixed on him."I mean yes, this is my home," Jared quickly said after noticin

Chapter: Chapter 37 SARAH UNCONSCIOUSLY SQUEEZED the masculine hand that was placed on her hand before she woke from her long sleep of recovery. Her involuntary action of gripping Michael's hand was as a result of the nightmare she had. She had no full memory of the dream but she knew she was falling from somewhere very high and was letting out an horrific scream. But, before her body reached the ground to be shattered to pieces, her eyes opened in slits and a blurry figure was standing before her. She shut her eyes and opened them slowly feeling a new surge of energy. The figure before her was no one else than her lover Michael. A faint smile escaped her lips at the sight of him.Michael smiled back and gripped her hand. She had not even realized they were holding hands until Michael squeezed and her eyes moved to the side of the bed where their hands were interlocked."I'm glad you are back," Michael said as their eyes met and with immediate effect they dove into a sensual kiss."I thought I had lost

Chapter: Chapter 36 ALFRED SLAMMED A leathered-back book on the huge table in the laboratory that was surrounded by the guardians except for Jared and Ruby. It was late at night and Jared was nowhere to be found since he decided to try talking Ruby out of leaving the Fortress."Did you guys even take a walk around the ship to see how it looks like? How large it was?" Alfred asked, raising his face from the book on the table to Jamie's face."We couldn't even see the ship but I suppose it was very large. It would have so many rooms and the interior was cool," Jamie replied."Ruby will help us with that. She knows the ship pretty well, it's the same that was brought here to carry out their operation," Jared's voice was heard through out the laboratory and a flurry of wind swept through the room. Everyone in the lab threw their face to the exit door of the laboratory to see who owned the voice.Jared was seen walking into the laboratory briskly while Ruby ordinarily lingered behind him."Jared!" Chapter: Chapter 35 "WHAT MAKES YOU think those kids are not coming or making a plan," Michael asked. He had been engaging in a conversation with Henry since forever and it was reasonable so far."They won't," Henry replied, shutting his eyes and tilting his head to the back slightly to lean on the cushion sofa in his room."They would use today and tomorrow to come up with a executable plan, we move tomorrow morning. Just because I was disconnected for few minutes doesn't mean I'm no longer in control. Or don't you trust me?""I do," Michael replied. After thinking for few minutes and observing the silence, he started."How do you plan on getting Zoe and Evan out. Probably, capture Ruby again?" He asked.Henry smirked before replying."After bringing Virion back to life, things are going to change Michael," Henry was looking directly into Michael's eyes.Michael found his voice, few seconds after pondering on the statement."What do you mean things are going to change," he asked, confusion was evident
