I could definitely get used to waking up like this. Alex was staring at Xavier’s sleeping form, watching the pale eyelashes tremble with each controlled breath. He looked so calm, so ethereal, the blearily light from outside making the vampire glow. He was tempted to caress the pale face but feared disturbing his sleep. He had awoken much earlier at the excitement of seeing Jamie after what felt like years, the thought jabbing at him to spring out of bed to start getting ready even if dawn had just broke. Alex’s drawn brows shot up in surprise, noticing the leaves now stuck in his friend’s hair and the dirt staining the not so obvious places on him. Alex watched as Xavier struggled to speak, ultimately saying nothing. Alex finally calmed himself, sitting up, Xavier giving him the space too. A rose scent awoke Alex, his eyes squinting at the harsh sunlight beating down on him. He shifted, sitting up from his grassy bed, endless fields of swaying weeds filling his vision. The scent grew stronger, calming his mind and relaxing his body. Alex stood, looking around soon identifying a woman not too far from him. Her midnight black hair danced in the sun, her back turned to him. He walked towards her, his bare feet carrying him forward but he made no progress in his journey. The longer he walked, the faster he came to the realization that he wasn’t going to get any closer so he stopped, watching the mysterious figure. As if only sensing him now, she turned, her piercing amber eyes stabbing into the depths of his soul. She watched him just as he watched her. A light smile graced her features, one that blossomed her beauty to an immeasurable level. She mouthed something but no words left her rosy lips. Shifting awake, Alex pried open an eye only for his heart to launch itself at the sight of Josh staring wide eyed at him. With a click of his tongue to let his annoyance be known, he let his hand run over his face, drawing his brows at the other who held off the intense look to instead turn to face the ceiling.“Last time I was up first , Xander was standing there ready to bite our heads off,” Josh said, Alex letting out an annoyed mumble.“So, you waited till I got up first, no you woke me up with that stupid ass stare of yours, just so I could lose my head first?” Alex grumbled, his voice grating against his throat, taking satisfaction when the other flinched away at his bad breath.Sitting up, Alex scanned the room, making sure there was no vampire ready suck em dry before jabbing at Josh’s head.“He’s not here,” Alex spoke, throwing his legs over the edge of the bed, stretching his back and sighing at the pop.
