Chapter: Chapter 29"Hello Wife." His voice was pure sin. It sent a shiver down Bailey's spine and the sudden urge to lick his dark skin overcame her. She swayed toward the lethal man, her body firmly in charge as her mind tried to catch up. "Arawn, darling!" Danu clapped her hands, breaking the spell on Bailey. "How was your nap?"He didn't turn his dark gaze from Bailey. "Nap, Mother?" He blinked slowly, his lips hiking in a sardonic grin. "I would hardly call sleeping for the last six and a half centuries a nap." "A necessary evil." Danu's voice was full of warmth and Bailey had to keep her Magick in check. She wanted to throttle the Goddess. "Come, Titania, we must be away to Annwn." Arawn reached for her imperiously. Bailey shrank back, keeping her eyes on his. She couldn't look away if she tried. They were so dark she couldn't find his pupil. Most fae had tri-colored eyes. Arawn's were pure obsidian. He frowned, a line slashing between his brows, when Bailey didn't jump into his arms. She fel

Chapter: Chapter Twenty-EightBailey pressed her back into the wall behind her. Danu continued to chatter about her upcoming nuptials but all she could hear was Beckett telling her that Arawn would have to go through them to get to her. It was beginning to look like that wouldn't be much of an issue, with Danu's plans. "No." Bailey interrupted Danu's monologue. "I will not marry Arawn. I have three mates already. I don't need a fourth. Especially someone I don't even know." "Sweet girl, I know you have three mates. I selected them for you specifically with this marriage in mind." Danu crossed her arms. "You will need others in your corner. Arawn is temperamental at best, and an ogre on his worst days. Your other mates are your buffer. With your marriage, you'll have a complete set." Bailey shook her head, squaring her shoulders. She could feel the infamous Fee stubbornness stiffen her spine. Even if she wasn't Jonas' blood, he still raised her. "I meant what I said. I will not marry a man, or God, just becaus

Chapter: Chapter 27Bailey stared at the Goddess in front of her. She was arranging little tea cakes on a platter, and Bailey was sure she was having an out of body experience. Maybe the magick finally did her in. Maybe this was death."How do you take your tea, dear?" Danu's voice broke though Bailey's haze and she blinked stupidly."I--" She struggled for words. "I don't really drink tea. I've always been more of a coffee girl."Danu tutted softly, grabbing a gorgeous little cup with wildflowers painted on it. "Don't be ridiculous, everyone drinks tea." She placed a couple cubes of sugar in the bottom of the cup, and then poured an aromatic tea into it.Bailey's nose flared as she caught the scent of lavender and chamomile. There was another, earthier smell that offset the floral scent. She took the cup and set it in front of her."I would suggest a touch of cream, it tempers the sweetness." Danu sipped daintily from her own cup and sighed in satisfaction. "So how are you finding Tir Na Nog?""Beautiful

Chapter: Chapter 26Bailey stared at the portal in front of her. The mirrored surface shimmered with a rainbow of colors. It was different than the portal into Faerie. The magick that swirled in the air around her was tamer by comparison.Jayce leaned against the wall, and her eyes sought him out. He gave her a soft smile that did funny things to her stomach. There was something between them, something new and unsaid. It was exciting."As much as I enjoy watching you eye-fuck Spring, you need to get your thoughts under control." Beckett leaned into her.She lifted her hand and stroked one of his antlers. They were so velvety that she couldn't stop herself any time she was close enough. He groaned, hands snatching at her waist. "We don't have time for this.""We should make time." She grinned up at him, unrepentant.A loud cough at the doorway startled her. Viridios smirked as he sauntered in. "Hope I'm not interrupting."Jayce chuckled, straightening up from his slouched position on the wall. "Of course n

Chapter: Chapter 25They shuffled out into the hall after being dismissed by Viridios. Bailey felt the anger she held back swell inside of her. "What is your major malfunction, Jayce?" She reached out and snagged the prince by the arm. "I thought we were over this binding business!""Yeah, when I thought you were a Halfling." Jayce shook her off. He crossed his arms and glared. "I don't fancy spending a lot of time in Annwn, since you're Arawn's fated bride.""That isn't fair!" She cocked her hands on her hips and rolled her eyes. "I was barely getting used to the idea of being an Inherent before I thought I would. Now I'm a full-blooded fae changeling who has no idea who my real parents are, with a wellspring of wild Fae Magick inside me that shouldn't even be able to be there!" She threw her hands up. "Why must everything be so difficult with you. I thought Beckett was going to be the taciturn one.""Hey! I'm a pleasure, I'll have you know!" Beckett exclaimed, causing Bailey to shoot him a quick smile.

Chapter: Chapter 24"She's what?!" Bailey flinched back at Viridios' tone. It wasn't that he was loud, but there was a vehement incredulousness that made her hackles rise. "That can't be possible, she wouldn't be able to hold the portal Magick. The Halflings are of both worlds, so their bodies can support the wild Fae Magick without being torn to ribbons. She would have imploded if she were a changeling.""Has that theory ever been tested?" Beckett gripped the back of a plush armchair. "Has any fae with enough of their own power been brought to the portals? Or did we use low fae and decide it wasn't viable?"Jayce sighed, scrubbing his hands over his face. "Is it possible, instead, that being raised in the human realm has changed her genetic makeup in such a way to allow for her body to handle the influx of portal Magick?" He looked so tired that Bailey itched to reach out and touch him. "There's a simple spell we could perform to check, isn't there? One that proves the veracity of changeling claims?""Yo

Moon Bride: A Reluctant Wife for the Alpha
"Do you think I would hurt you? You were hand-selected for me by the Goddess."
"I don't know what to think. I have waited the last two years to be claimed by you. I arrive here and I have been essentially ignored!"
He stepped into me, his luminous golden eyes razing me with the stoked flames burning in their depth. "Madison, I want to love you. I have never wanted anything more than to love you!" His words were a fervent plea as he snatched my hand.
"No, you wanted a Bride. A walking womb. Nothing more, nothing less." Ice settled in my chest. I could never love a monster that only wanted me for my ovaries. "So here I am, Husband. A ripe field to plow."
He staggered back, my words cutting him as sharply as any knife. He turned his wounded gaze on me, but I steeled myself. I would not allow myself to believe this could ever be anything more than a business arrangement. I was a means to an end for the Weres. The continuation of their race. A broodmare.
Madison Timms had known she would be a Moon-Bride since the year she turned sixteen. Now she has finally been claimed by her Alpha husband.
When Alpha Xander Cross meets his goddess-blessed mate, he only wants to love her. Regardless of her humanity.
Will his love thaw her icy heart? Or will they be torn apart by the world they are trying to rebuild?

Chapter: Chapter 55"What?!" I gripped my coffee cup tighter in my fingers. Etna swatted the back of my head. "Quit moving or I'll never get this mass of hair done in time." "Mabon escaped. No one has been able to find Heather. Robin and that Beta of his took off after him before the trail went cold." Lilith leaned back in her chair. My mother sat next to her, her eyes shining suspiciously. "I can't believe my baby is getting married." I blushed. I couldn't believe it either. For nearly four years, I had been a Moon Bride. So much had happened. I got my parents back from an evil Vampyr queen. I lost my new best friend to a stolen heart. I became a werewolf, found not one but two mates, had a daughter, and killed an evil fae queen. Apparently my parents had been at the Battle of Godmother's Justice as the Unseelie were calling it. They had been using my father's little scraps of magic to transport the legions of imps from Daemon territory directly into the Unseelie Palace. Apparently Maeve had atta

Chapter: Chapter 54I floated on a sea of blackness. If this was death, sign me up! It was the most relaxed I'd been in, well, years I suppose. The world around me shifted. It was a subtle shift. I slowly became more aware of my surroundings. Silver topped sand dunes glowed in the distance. I was sitting on a rug in the middle of a desert. The moon hung low in the sky, big and bright and shining. I wasn't sure how I had gotten here, but I wasn't panicked. A sense of peace and rightness washed over me. "Welcome back to Zolon, Madison Timms." I glanced up lazily. The woman in front of me was silver layered on even more silver. Her silvery white hair hung in waves, mingling with her silver gossamer dress. Her skin was so pale that it was a translucent porcelain, and her eyes a silvery gray rimmed in darkness. She was beauty and grace personified. I'm sure if the lethargy that weighted my limbs was gone, I might've jumped to my feet to show my respect. But I couldn't really pull myself together enough t

Chapter: Chapter 53The howl was loud enough to echo off the high ceilings. It came directly from the wolf pacing angrily in the back of my mind. Had I lost track of time? Was it so close to the full moon? 'We should rip them apart, human. They have our pup!' Eclipse growled angrily in the dark corner of my mind she typically went to. After she had faded away, only the three days of the full moon allowed her to talk to me. This needed to be dealt with immediately. I couldn't wolf out as a prisoner! I might hurt someone that didn't deserve it.I jerked back to myself, trying to ignore the slavering wolf in my head. Eclipse was ready to spill blood. The howl seemed to echo on, which should have been impossible, when I realized that it wasn't my howl. The echo from that had faded. I blinked, glancing at Robin sharply. He shook his head and spread his hands. I turned, my jaw dropping as I glimpsed Linnea. My daughter was stiff in the arms of her guard, back bowed, mouth opened wide as her howl split what

Chapter: Chapter 52Ella finished her tidying and bustled out. It was a power move. A flex, really. Letting me see that my friend, while tired and underfed, was alive. Would we get a chance to see Heather? My hair was in my face, the dark strands sticking to my wet cheeks. I lifted my hand, my fingertips pressing into the flesh under my eyes. I was crying. I didn't even realize it. I must be hormonal. Thankfully, when a wolf was mated, the heat was only in the vicinity of her mates. Not saying I didn't feel the press of it, but it wasn't overwhelming. I needed to get my hair out of my face. Having it cling to me itched at me, it was overwhelming. Thankfully, I had slid my special chopsticks into my sleeve rather than leave them in my case. I tugged them out, swirling my hair on top of my head and jabbing the sticks in savagely. "What are those?" I smirked at Robin. He wouldn't have been aware, but I had Little John assist me with a side project at his pack house. "My game plan." "What do you mean

Chapter: Chapter 51Robin whistled under his breath as he unfolded himself from his tiny sports car. Little John looked like he was crawling out of a clown car as he slid from the passenger side. It was enough to make me giggle. "If I had known we would be rubbing elbows with real royalty, I would've dressed up.""I guess the Prince part of Aeryck's name escaped you." I crossed my arms and leaned back into Rhys' heat. I expected our morning after repairing our mate bond to be awkward. But it wasn't. My guys had woken me with gentle kisses and lovemaking. Promises of autonomy and professions of love. I was so here for it. A day and a half later, we were now standing outside Aeryck's palace. "It didn't escape me, Godmother, I just didn't care to remember." Boy, Heather was going to have to take this prick to task. Too self-assured. He needed to be knocked down a peg. "Thank the Goddess you've arrived." I glanced as Aeryck shuffled down the stairs, nonplussed. Usually, Royals greeted their guests in t

Chapter: Chapter 50My body burned as two sets of eyes drank me in. They had given me their oaths. They swore to allow me my own choices. To let me live my life as I chose. My thighs clenched as heat flooded through me. I wanted–no, needed—them. Both of them.My shoulder twinged as I reached up for Xander. The pain cleared my head enough to make me aware of the pressing need that flooded my body. Heat. I was in heat. Dammit. I sure as hell wasn't about to stop this. I wasn't sure I could even if I truly wanted to. But I had been so long without the touch of my mates. I needed to heal our bond. To undo the rejection. Xander groaned, leaning into me. His lips whispered across mine, leaving a trail of fire. The kisses turned insistent, and Rhys let out a soft sigh at my feet. I reached out a hand to him, and he clasped my fingers. I needed them both. "I can smell you." Rhys ground out, before heat washed across my lower belly. I peered around Xander to see Rhys' face buried against my pelvis, breathing

The Lycan King's Blade
"Behold!" The Priestess yelled above the noise of the crowd. It became deathly silent. She could feel the malevolent eyes of the crowd on her and she didn't know why. "The Fox!" Cassidy let out a yip of horror that echoed in the silent village.
A Fox Shifter. Cassidy was a Fox. Terror coursed through her smaller body. In all her pleading with the Moon Goddess, she had never thought she would be so terribly cursed. She would be torn limb from limb by the crowd. Shifting to the Fox was a death sentence. Neither prey nor an apex predator, the Fox was an outlier in Shifter society.
The crowd roared as one as the High Priestess lifted her. "Run Cassidy, no-clan, and know that pain is only temporary." She whispered softly, before tossing Cassidy into the waiting crowd.
All Cassidy had ever wanted was to survive her first Shift. If she didn't end up as prey, all the better.
As the illegitimate child of the aging Alpha, and daughter of a rabbit shifter drudge, Cassidy knew the world was an unfair place for those who were not born predator.
No one expected Cassidy to be a fox, least of all her. Reviled and feared by predator and prey alike, fox shifters were cast out from home and clan, into the wilderness. If they were lucky. And Cassidy had never been all that acquainted with luck.
Rejected by her clan, beaten and broken, left for dead...Cassidy welcomed the darkness. But death will have to wait for her just a little longer. The Lycan King has need of a new assassin, and Cassidy is forced into his world of intrigue, politics, and romance.

Chapter: Chapter Ten"No! That isn't right! Do it again Derek." Cassidy sat on the wooden fence surrounding the training yard, swinging her dangling feet and munching on an apple absently. The morning had been surreal, full of empty beds and unanswered questions. The Lycan King had been mysteriously absent from breakfast, and she decided to amuse herself by watching the Lycan Lords train. Derek squared off with Callum while William and Tristan offered critiques. Both men clashed, blades ringing in the early morning hush. Cassidy studied them closely, having never been allowed to wield a sword during her training classes with her siblings. Derek's gaze kept sliding to her, and again his sword flew from his grasp. He cursed sharply. "Why is the Fox here? Shouldn't she be in a shadowed corner waiting to pop out and stab someone?" Cassidy glared at the Lycan. "Am I too distracting, My Lord, or are you just a fumbling idiot this morning?"Laughter echoed in the yard and Derek colored hotly. He stomped over

Chapter: Chapter NineA weighted silence descended on the table, but Cassidy would not take the words back. She glared at Derek in challenge, daring him to respond. A sudden laugh made her jump, and her gaze turned to the man directly at the King's right hand. "She certainly is the spitfire you said she was." Blue eyes assessed her critically. "Slight build is a plus, but something will have to be done about her hair. The color is too striking.""No." The King answered swiftly. "Her hair stays as it is.""An assassin has to be able to blend in. She will be too noticeable, too recognizable with that dark fiery hair." The man responded, frowning at the King."I said no." The King's eyes moved to her and quickly darted away. "She needs to be a deadly flower. One that draws in her prey before dispatching it swiftly. My decision is final."Cassidy felt her cheeks color. Being discussed, as if she wasn't in the same room, made her decidedly uncomfortable. Her hand lifted to finger a lock of her hair, twisting i

Chapter: Chapter EightRaelyn chattered at Cassidy as they made their way down the hall to the dining area. She wasn't sure what to expect. At her father's castle, she had never been permitted to eat dinner with her siblings and father. Instead, she took her meals with the prey shifters, and it was a raucous affair. From what she understood, Royals had stately dinners, full of etiquette that she was unfamiliar with. "Okay, here's what you need to know." Raelyn pulled her to a stop outside a set of large oak doors. "We will be dining with the four major generals of my brother's army, the heads of the Knights of Lenerum. They, along with Garth, are the only other Lycans who will know who and what you are.""I am aware that I am currently a state secret." Cassidy arched a brow at her. "Yes, and they are part of the inner circle. They are our pack, the sons of our mother's siblings. Callum will be the most chatty, he is inquisitive by nature." She darted a glance at the doors. "Tristan is the spymaster. You

Chapter: Chapter SevenCassidy stared blankly at the door the Lycan King exited. He was...overwhelming would be an appropriate word, she decided. His arrogance and blatant disregard of her as a person made her angry. Anger was better than fear. Anger could be used, shaped, molded into something sharp and dangerous. Her ire was a weapon she would forge in secret. "Not that there is any useful application." She whispered to the silent room. He was the High King of Lenerum, a Lycan berserker like his father before him. The old king had been feared throughout her village. No one spoke his name, afraid to summon his shade from the abyss. There were whispers that the Lycan King had to put down his father. The old king was so gone in madness that he had ripped the head of a visiting dignitary clean from his shoulders. Her mother had loved to tell that tale at the hearth, when it had been time for the prey shifter children to sleep. She told of the handsome young Lycan rising against his father. How he had ripp

Chapter: Chapter SixCassidy sat up straight, gripping the glass of water tighter as Forest man's words sank in. Assassin training? She shook her head once, twice, and then let out a giggle. "I'm not so sure what you might have heard about me, but I'm no assassin."Forest man's eyes glittered as he flopped back into the wingback chair. "You might not be right now, but you will be." He gestured to the room and then to her. "All of this is to make sure of it.""You don't even know me. Who I am..." She paused, thinking back on the fact he had met her mother in the forest and she knew his name. "Or maybe you do.""I do, Cassidy No-clan, little fox shifter of the backwood village Serrat." He smirked at her. "You're the reason I was in that shit-hole. No one in their right mind wants to visit that far out from true civilization."Cassidy bristled, glaring at the man. "You're awfully opinionated." She set the glass down on the bedside table and crossed her arms. "Tell me, Forest man, what it is you think you kno

Chapter: Chapter FiveCassidy's world was on fire. Every breath was agony, the angle her teeth met felt wrong, each jostling movement of the wagon she was in sent a scorch of flames through her body. She longed to sink back into the oblivion of the darkness, but she kept clawing back to consciousness, fear and worry making her sick. "She's bleeding all over the blankets." A dark voice observed. She couldn't see who was speaking because her eyes were too swollen to open. "Don't you think we should stop at a healer my Liege?" "We can't afford to, not while she is still in fox form." The man from the forest answered. His voice was deep and decadent, like the cake her mother would sneak into her room on her birthday. She would shiver in pleasure if she wasn't in so much pain. "We will have to wait until we make it to the hold in Tyrrim, where Garth can have a look at her." "I still don't understand, why a fox?" The other voice replied, and Cassidy bristled at his dismissive tone. "She is no longer of any im
