CHAPTER 18: Kaiden: I stand in the doorway of the apartment staring at Daisy over her friend's head. My gaze sweeps over her, taking in her thighs and the shorts that cling to her hips. The thin tank top she wears outlines her curves. My eyes linger on her hair, it forms a halo around her face. Daisy's eyes are wide with surprise as she takes in my form. Kaiden:I crack open my eyes, wincing at the brightness of the room. My gaze is unfocused and I blink once, twice, to shake off the bleariness.There's a heaviness in my head and my thoughts are muddled. Daisy:Alex ignores me as he enters the room laying Kaiden on the bed.Kaiden's face is pale and his skin is clammy. A wave of fear washes over me and my heart sinks." The doctor's on his way, watch him. I'll be right back." Alex says then he rushes out of the room.I watch as Kaiden takes shallow breaths and his eyes move frantically beneath the lids.
