Voices, so many voices.
I slowly opened my eyes to find that I was in one of the guest rooms in the pack house.Mum, dad, Alpha Declan, Luna Olivia, Jenny, her mate, and him, "mmmmmm yummy," muttered Prim."What happened?" I groaned whilst trying to sit up."Take it easy love. You passed out after finding out that Tyler was your mate," my dad said.Looking a little shocked as he referred to the Alpha King by his name instead of his title and nothing happened to him. No punishment, no arrest, no 'OFF WITH HIS HEAD'."I am just glad that you are alright," my mum said, with Luna Olivia nodding in agreement."You need to rest a little. Come down when you feel ready," Alpha Declan said before leaving to join the others.Jenny just stood there looking as if she wanted to say something but wasn't sure what to say or how to say it. "Congratulations," she said quietly before turning on her heel and practically running out of the door with her mate not far behind."Finally," came a voice, "I didn't think they would ever leave."There in front of me was a God of a man. Lightly tanned skin, almost black wavy hair, chocolate brown eyes and looking at the way his tuxedo clung to his body, an amazing physique."Hi," I managed to say, "I'm Emily."He looked at me with a glint in his eyes and a big grin on his face. "I know who you are little one. Don't you remember me?"Sitting on the bed staring at Tyler, I could not remember when or where I had seen him in other than a royal capacity, but the sense of familiarity was there."You are the Alpha King," I said, making him sigh and slump his shoulders before taking a breath and standing upright again."I met you before I became the king. I was 12 years old, and you were 4. We were playing in the field behind the pack house when my father was talking business with Alpha Declan and your father. I knew then that you were going to be my mate. You see, as a royal, we get our wolf at a younger age than any other pack member. I couldn't tell you then because you were too young to understand all of that," he explained."Um....Who...Why didn't anyone tell me as I got older?" I stammered.Tyler smiled a soft smile "It was decided that we would meet again at the Moon Ball after your 18th birthday."I just sat and stared at him, shocked into silence."Say something. Please...anything." he begged."What would you like me to say, your majesty?" I whispered."There's no need for titles, Emily, we are mates, my queen." with a teasing smirk on his gorgeous lips. I shook my head trying to get rid of all the naughty thoughts of Tyler out of my head. As if knowing what I was doing, Tyler let out a deep chuckle. OMG! The feeling coursing through my body towards my secret garden was indescribable, but nothing seemed to escape Tyler. His senses were unparalleled, which meant that he could sense my arousal no matter how faint it may be.I started to fidget and prepared to stand up with the intention of bolting to the door or the window but it's as if Tyler could read my mind and grabbed a hold of me before I could finalize my escape route."Grrrrrr... you are not going anywhere. I want to spend time with my mate. You are mine," Tyler growled out."But you don't know me. I am not of any importance or of a worthy rank." As far as I was aware, I was an Omega, one of the lowest ranks in the pack."Oh, that's where you are wrong little one. You are actually Alpha born but your parents left the Black Water pack shortly after you were born for the protection of the pack."For the second time in one night, I was rendered speechless.Time ticked away slowly."For the love of the Moon Goddess Emily, will you please tell me what you are thinking? Until I mark you, I am unable to feel your emotions or read your thoughts."I just looked up at him with wide tear-filled eyes."I'm sorry sweetheart," Tyler cooed, "Please talk to me. We can sort things out together, I promise you."I was feeling so tired and could sense that Tyler was too. we both knew that we weren't getting anywhere right now, and we didn't know where we stood with each other, so I decided to ask the dreaded question. "Don't you want to reject me? I don't think I can be who you want me to be or what you need."I was dead. I can't believe I actually asked that out loud. "Mate still loves you but Axel is getting angry that you thought they were going to reject us," Prim said to me. I just stared at the floor listening to Tyler breathing heavily as he tried to calm his wolf.Tyler's POV"Welcome. How are you both?" Huw and Jenny looked really awkward. "I sure hope nothing's wrong. My nerves are still shot from the last time you looked like this and then the fight.""Let's just go and wait for Emily before we say what we need to," Jenny suggested."Sounds good to me," Huw piped up.We all walked in silence to the dining room. 'Something is going on here. Huw and Jenny seem distant and closed off. How is this conversation going to affect Emily and our news tonight?' I was now panicking until I felt a warm embrace before she even reached me. I'm not going to lie; it helped me relax."Hi guys, how are you? Is everything OK? You don't look so good. Come, sit and have some juice.""Thank you, Em. Um...actually, we have something we need to talk to you about," Jenny started."Sure," Emily said as she poured drinks for everyone."I...I don't know how to say it. Maybe it would be easier to show you?""Whatever makes you more comfortable." I watched as Jenny place
Emily's POVIt's been almost a month since Nate declared war because his mate, my grandma, chose not to be with him because of the monster that he was. Power and greed can change a person and not always in a good way.I am currently standing in front of the bedroom mirror trying to think of different ways that I can reveal my news to Tyler. How was I going to tell Jenny after what she had been through? I feel really selfish right now."Showtime," I said to my reflection as I left the room. I made my way downstairs in search of my husband."Ty, hunny. Where are you?""In the study babe.""Are you busy?""Just general duties. You're more than welcome to come and make my day better."I could feel the smile in his voice which made me smile. I walked to the study with the small envelope in my hand. I hope this is a good surprise for him, I thought, as the anxiety started to kick in. I reached for the door handle and pushed open the door. "Hey babe, you got a sec? I have something I need to
Emily's POVEveryone charged towards the intruders."Keep in groups. They are created this way for a reason. If you go off alone, you will be singled out." I mind linked our fighters."Yes, your majesty," chorused back. Good. At least I know they're listening. Tyler and Huw raced ahead with the others."Give her to me boy and no harm will come to you. I will even give you a consolation prize in return," he painted over to Natalie."Why would I want something like that when I already have the perfect woman for me?" Tyler's words made a smile creep slowly over my face. Listening to their exchange, I hadn't noticed that I was now standing alone with the fighting taking place around me."Feel their energy, their pain. Talk to them," a voice whispered to me in the wind."Why are you doing this? What has gone wrong in your pack for you to turn your back on it?"“We don't like the prophecy or its ending.""For years, silver wolves would dream of being mated to a gold wolf.""Yes, all that po
Tyler's POV"Hey man, are you up?" Huw linked me."Yeah, couldn't sleep. Coffee's ready," before I could finish, Huw walked into the kitchen. We grabbed our coffee and walked into the dining room where the omegas were setting out breakfast. Neither of us felt like eating."I don't know about you Ty, but I don't have much of an appetite today.""Me neither." We both sat there nursing our cups. Not eating is a rare thing for werewolves. We are usually ravenous 24/7 due to the number of calories we burn off during training etc."Good morning," the girls sang as they walked in with their beverages of choice."Would you look at those," Jenny pointed at the pastries. Emily already had her plate stacked with pancakes in front of her. It was twice the size of what she normally would eat. The amount of food they demolished between them was enough for the 4 of us, but yet my stomach rolled at the smell of the food today."How can you be so calm?" Huw asked what I was thinking. I'm sure he has
Huw's POVI have never, in all my years as a royal warrior, have I ever seen the place so busy. Dressmakers, caterers, visitors from neighbouring packs and clans."Whoa!" I exhaled a longer than intended breath. "Jen, how's Em feeling?" I shouted back to her."She's on edge, worried something is going to go wrong and there's nothing I can do to convince her that it will go swimmingly today." She sounded defeated."Don't worry about it babe. I've got this." Walking towards the palace, I opened the mind link to everyone I could. "Can all clan and pack head warriors meet me on the palace driveway. I have something to discuss with you." I immediately closed the link but not before I felt the confusion as to how I managed to do that without being a member of theirs, as well as not being of a high rank.I headed through the forest heading towards the palace with Jen holding my hand. Hmmm, I never knew I could feel like this. If I had, I would've gone looking for my mate sooner.Jenny giggle
Tyler's POVI am sitting in my study when my Beta knocks on the door before entering. Beta Justin Oliver, hand picked by myself during training. He was loyal to a T but also knew how to have a laugh. He was very good at reading people. I feel that he could be an Alpha and will make him one in the future, but he doesn't know that yet."Your majesty, you have guests." He opened the doors to let in the leaders of the other packs and clans."We have received word that the battle will take place in 3 days," Vlad announced."We are ready to fight, are you?" The Lycan's were always big-headed when it came to war."I am always ready and so is my queen. The coronation is tomorrow at noon. I am so glad you will be in attendance. Beta Oliver will show you where you will be staying unless you have arranged alternative accommodation."Three days. Three fucking days. I don't know if we are strong enough. Sure, the witches have helped a lot with the training, but you always have that self-doubt. Wit
