10. Let's Go April.

APRIL’S POV

The announcement blared over the speakers again, making me jump in fright. As I scanned the surroundings, I caught sight of students whispering and pointing fingers in my direction.

“...where has she been? I haven’t seen her in days.”

“.... is the troublemaker back? I still have those videos of what they did to her; it was hilarious.”

I panicked and soon ran away to avoid the snickering. My destination was the principal’s office—I needed to find out what he wanted. Racing upstairs, I reached the office, trying to avoid the stares of the students who had gathered around to watch me go inside.

I took a deep breath and finally went inside. I saw the principal sitting in his chair and glaring at me.

“Good morning, Principal. You called me,” I said, trying to conceal my fear.

“Yes, I did call you,” he said icily. “Where have you been for the last two days?”
