Chapter 9 The Ritual

We drove through the woods following the car of the new pack guys. And finally, we reached our destination. There was a big clearing in the middle of the woods. Right in the middle stood a very tall mansion. All in black. It sort of terrorizes you if you saw it at night. I was clearly afraid of stepping into it.

Our cars parked a little distance away from the tall black building. The Gennady and Jose got out of their cars and motioned us to do the same and keep following us. I didn’t like it one bit. Everything around here seemed weird. My heart was pounding loudly as I got down from my car and followed my mom closely. I had tightly wrapped a shawl around me my mom gave me before getting out.

The grass was even and neatly cut. As we got closer to the mansion I noticed trees around it which formed a sort of border, and in those trees were birds of all kinds chirping away enjoying the sunlight and going about their business. I quite liked that sight, so I relaxed a bit.
