Chapter Nine

Jasmine’s POV

Alex took the paper from my hand and I could tell that it was something that affected him from the look he had on his face. I didn’t ask a question though. I didn’t want to get involved in anything deep.

“Are you done?” He asked me once he noticed that I wasn’t eating anymore and I nodded.

“I don’t have much appetite again. That will be all. Thank you for this.”

“It’s my pleasure.” He smiled and then I cleared my throat as I was about to tell him something. I was sure that he was going to not agree but I will make sure that he does.

“Do you want to say anything?” He asked me when I opened my mouth and then closed it back.

“I want to work,” I said and he opened his mouth his shock. I felt his eyes go over to my flat tummy. My bump wasn’t showing her but I knew that he was going to use my pregnancy as an excuse.

“But you can’t. You are not in any condition to stress yourself much.” He told me and I rolled my eyes.

I wasn’t dying. I was just pregnant. What was the big deal
