“What were you thinking?” Ethan shouted, waking my senses. “You were almost mauled over by those newborns!”

Of all the times I had been in his pack, this was the first time that I heard him shout at me. In the five years that I have stayed with him, this was the first time he had lost control of his temper. Despite all the teasing and bickering that we had, he never shouted at me the way he was shouting at me now.

“I’m sorry,” I said trembling, not because I was scared of him but because I knew how close I was to dying.

“Hey, man,” the guy who saved me said as he placed a hand on Ethan’s shoulder. “You gotta chill. Can’t you see she’s trembling with fear?”

Ethan turned to face him, the anger on his face was something I had never seen before.
