I stood in Lucas’ room once more tending to his wounds. The scene with Derek has long been gone but the burns in his body were still there and didn’t heal at all. Like last time, he sat at the chair by his desk hunched over. I applied burn cream to his blisters, and couldn't help but feel bitterness. I ate dinner with the other girls in silence. It consisted of nothing more than a turkey sandwich and a bottle of water, but we all took over an hour to eat.
