Chapter 18: Together to the Countryside

The next day, Lani was roused early by a call from Aurora, reluctantly leaving her bed to prepare for the day's shoot at the studio. When Lani sat up, Kane enveloped her in a gentle embrace, his fingers softly running through her hair.

"Do you have to go to work already?" he asked.

Today, Lani had to wake up earlier than usual for the game show shoot, and she wasn't quite as alert. She nodded in a daze, giving Kane a light kiss before getting up and heading to the bathroom to brush her teeth.
