I furrowed my brows as I saw him walk straight past me towards the window, his gaze fixed outside it.

It is funny he thinks we have a choice. It was either we gave Nora the things she demanded, or I would get into trouble for signing the contract. If Nora takes me to court, it wouldn't just be me that would go down; everything my father had suffered to build with his sweat and people's blood would go down with it.
