I drove out of Ignacio's mansion furiously, my temper boiling. For the first time in nearly three weeks, Luca had finally gotten somewhere with his search for Allesia, and I should be feeling relieved, but instead, there was this irrefutable anger bubbling inside me.

You would think that Nikolai had given up his interest in Allesia with the way he was acting the weeks prior to her leaving, but just learning that he knew about her being in New York the whole time and yet he chose to keep it from me was not half as disappointing as finding out she had spent three days curled up in his bed doing God knows what.

I could have been fooled to think I was protecting her by sending her away, but who could have thought she was waiting for the slightest chance to jump back into the bed of her ex, my supposed ‘friend.’
